Charlotte Newell Participates in PLI’s “Delaware Law Developments 2023: What All Business Lawyers Need To Know”

On May 1, 2023, Sidley partner Charlotte Newell participated in “Delaware Law Developments 2023: What All Business Lawyers Need to Know,” a program presented by the Practising Law Institute.  The annual program provides updates on Delaware law matters, offering insights from leading Delaware corporate law practitioners and jurists.

Charlotte spoke on the “Busted Deal Litigation – Twitter Revisited and Lessons Learned” panel. Topics discussed included (i) the reaffirmation of Delaware’s adherence to contractual freedom and enforcement, (ii) the procedural and substantive issues attendant to busted deal litigation, and (iii) and privilege issues that can arise from director or officer use of external emails. Other panelists included Ryan A. McLeod, Maeve L. O’Connor, Brad D. Sorrels and the panel’s leader, Vice Chancellor Morgan T. Zurn of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
